Photos from when fen is here

Here are some photos that fen and I took when she's here. She was here from 04 June to 13 June! So nice!! I was soooooooooooo happy. Too bad she couldnt stay longer thought. But I enjoyed my time with her... hope she did too. She had to vet my assignments for me (poor fen) and go with me to my 2nd fencing competition (hope she wasnt bored). Miss you fennie!!

04 JUNE
The day that fen arrived. Went to the city to take a look around and then went to the Botanical Gardens since it was nearby =)

05 JUNE
Went to North Adelaide with Fen after class. Didnt take many photos here...
here's one of the churces in North Adelaide

06 JUNE
Went to Chinatown for lunch before coming back for class

07 JUNE
Went to Cleland Wildlife Park, Mt Lofty Summit and then Hahndorf. I have omitted all the photos on animals since there's too many.

Decided to go the Cleland Wildlife park cause it was foggy in the morning. We wouldn't have been able to see any view. At the park, we met some aggressive ducks that actually attacked us!!

Mt. Lofty Summit. Took us 50 mins to hike from Cleland Wildlife park to here, and it was STEEEP. Poor fennie had to wait for me lots of times while I catch my breathe. I felt really old. Hahhahaah. Incidentally we were the only two people that was walking UP the slope. There were others hiking. But they went the other direction, going DOWN instead. Smart choice.

Can see Adelaide City! :)

From the summit, we proceeded to Hahndorf. Stayed at Inn of the Earth. Not too bad, though lots of rules.

08 JUNE
Left Hahndorf and walked to Brigewater and Aldgate. Took us a while.. more than an hour? We just walk and walk. Wasnt too bad since the company is great (Fennie!!). Then we took a bus to Stirling, and then back to college... where we had a rice dumpling celebration cause it was Duan Wu Jie. :)

Hahndorf - I have more photos on facebook.. lazy :P

Bridgewater Mill
Aldgate. Frankly a v v v v small town. Nothing much!
Stirling
Han Ying made these dumplings *drool*

Zhong zi. Unlike the ones we have at home.. which are much nicer. But we still got to eat some on duan wu jie! :)

Our food. And yes, my friends cooked all these dishes. They are very good cooks! Not me though... we did contribute Singapore Sling for them to try. Fennie brought them when she came

09 JUNE

Jo, Kit and me

10 JUNE
Went to Central Market again... didnt spend that much time there the other day so decided to go again.

Mmmm lamb... *drool*

11 JUNE
Went for a Barossa Valley Wine tour that covered 3 wineries, the Rocking Horse, Angas Park and Whispering Wall. First time we've been on a wine-tasting tour. Interesting experience. Came to the conclusion that we like sparkling wine, white wine, sweet wine (of course!!) and port.

The World's Largest Rocking Horse

Me on the mini horse. or rather the normal size one. Haha
There were some signs at the rocking horse place. And Singapore is there!
Went to on Angas Park Dried Fruits Factory. Actually just go there to buy some nuts. Hehe.

Barossa Valley!! Wheee!!

Wolf Blass, the first of our wine-tasting winery :)
Wolf Blass has around 550 hectares of vineyards throughout the premium viticulture regions of South Australia. The winery in the Barossa Valley produces around 700,000 cases of wine annually. Wolf Blass Wines are exported to over 80 countries, most notably The United Kingdom, The United States of America, Hong Kong and Japan..

The wines that we tasted at Wolf Blass

Old old vines...
Lemon tree that we saw at our lunch place, Nuriootoa Vine Inn. The 3 course lunch was quite good!
Our next stop is Vine Crest Winery. Have quite a range of award winning wines.

Last winery - Kies Family Wines

Some of then grapes were overly sweet. Too much sweetness produced during the heat wave in March (we had about 10 days of over 40 degrees). Here are some of these over-dried grapes.. and they are.. sultanas. o.O

Fennie pondering which wine to try...

For some reason, they had a teapots collection...

Last stop for the day. The Whispering Wall. What's interesting about the whispering wall is that if someone talk at the other end, u can here it at this end. It's true, we tried.

12 JUNE
We went to Harbour Town for shopping. Lots of factory outlets in that place. We spent the entire day shopping! On the way back to KLC, we saw a rainbow =D

13 JUNE
Went to the SA Museum and briefly the Art Gallery. SA Museum have lots of interesting exhibit! And since fen have to leave for the airport to catch her plane, there's only so much we can do

Fen's plane to Sydney
